Banlecoixe is a New Wave / Synthpop band from Sale Lake City, Utah. The original lineup included Kami Hall, Brian Jensen, and Rob Mouritsen. Formed in 1988, they began garnering attention in the summer of 1989 with radio play of their first recorded song, "Release the Chains" on local radio station KJQ. After a warm reception, the band decided to get serious in July of 1989 and purchased a Roland D-20 synthesizer the following month. Over the next two years, the band played several live gigs, aired several songs on radio station KJQ, and released the full length album, World of Images.

In 2020, Rob Mouritsen began producing music again under the Banlecoixe moniker, and released the single "Destiny Defined" in January, 2021. He is currently working on his next release, which should be out before the end of 2021.
